Septic Tank Specialists
About
ClearFlow
Wastewater specialists. North East born.
We built ClearFlow because we'd seen what happens when a specialist job gets handed to a generalist. Fifteen years in water treatment and construction across the North East told us exactly what this region's homeowners, developers, and businesses actually need — and what they too often don't get.

ClearFlow Treatment Systems was founded by engineers with over 15 years of hands-on experience in water treatment and construction across the North East of England. That background spans everything from large-scale infrastructure projects to private domestic installations — and it's given us a detailed understanding of what works, what fails, and why.
"We only do wastewater. It's not a side service — it's the whole business."
Most drainage companies offer septic tanks alongside drain unblocking, CCTV surveys, and general groundworks. We don't. ClearFlow was set up specifically to focus on one thing: the design, installation, replacement, and maintenance of septic tanks and wastewater treatment systems. That focus means every job we take on benefits from the full weight of our experience — not a fraction of it.
We work across the North East — from rural Northumberland to Teesside, from coastal properties to farm conversions — covering domestic, commercial, and development projects. If it involves off-mains drainage, it's what we do.
Our background
The experience behind
every installation
Fifteen years across two sectors gives ClearFlow a perspective most drainage contractors don't have. Here's what that means in practice.
Water treatment expertise
Our team comes from a water treatment background — understanding how wastewater is processed, what makes a system perform over time, and how to specify correctly for different ground conditions and usage levels. That's not something you learn from a two-day installation course.
Construction experience
Years working in construction across the North East means we understand groundworks, site access, soil types, and build programmes. We don't cause problems for other trades and we don't get held up by conditions that would stop a less experienced team.
North East knowledge
We know this region's ground conditions, its rural properties, its planning authorities, and its Environment Agency office. That local knowledge matters — what works in one part of Northumberland won't necessarily work in County Durham, and we know the difference.
Compliance knowledge
The regulatory landscape for private wastewater has changed significantly — the General Binding Rules, Environment Agency notifications, Building Regulations Part H. We follow and understand these in detail, so every installation we complete is clean from a compliance perspective.
